While sharing common ancestry with dragons, drakes are little more than beast when compared to their venerable kin. Nonetheless, drakes are held in high regard by kobolds who see drakes as children of the dragons - just as they are. Receiving a drake hound is an honor, even though the kobold so honored often meets their grisly end at the jaws of the drake itself.
